Thanks everyone for your love, support and prayers.
Things are going well. This afternoon went by a lot faster than I thought it would. The ICU is very quiet and peaceful right now -- unlike my tour last Friday. There is one other baby in here who had the same surgery as Lucy a few hours earlier. He is a little fussy right now so I assume that's what's to come for us tonight.
Lucy is currently resting soundly. She's opened her eyes a few times but is still pretty groggy from the anesthesia.
Our nurse is awesome. She'll be with us until 11:30 tonight. She wants to try to give her something for her belly when she wakes up. The morphine will start to wear off and we want to make sure her belly isn't completely empty when she's more alert.
She did throw up a little bit about an hour ago but the pediatrician told me that's very normal when babies (or even adults) are coming out of anesthesia.
That's the only updates we really have at the moment. Right now it's just watch and wait and see what she needs.
Thanks again for everything! We'll update when we have more news.

Dear Jen and Brian,
So glad to hear all is well. Sending more prayers up for a good night and that she continues to do awesome. I have been thinking of you both all day. What a lucky little lady Lucy is to have you both and big brother William too. She a strong little lady!!
Let us know your needs even if they seem silly.
Jen, I hope to visit tomorrow evening or Wednesday.... let me know if that is too soon.
Lots of Love and Prayers.
Amy (and Joe and Kids)
Miss Maddie and Miss Lucy have something in common: their choice of paci. Madison has the exact same one. Must be a good one. :) Take care, more prayers your way.
Hi.
Thank you so much for keeping us updated. We have been thinking about you and are relieved that everything is going well with her recovery. You two are wonderful parents and she is in good hands. Please call if you need me to come watch William some morning so you can concentrate on the little one.
Thinking of you,
The Nagels
I was out walking today and ran into Jill's mom, Connie B., on her bike. It was about 1 p.m. and we were both thinking about Lucy and beaming good wishes her way. Just wanted you to know that Lucy has a moral support team in Alex, too, and we are wishing her the best!
I am so happy she is doing well...we made our entire morning meeting dedicated to learning about Lucy...we watched her video and they can't wait to see how she is doing tomorrow! You have a class of first graders rooting for you! Love you!
We have been thinking and praying for you guys all day. Lauren and all of the kids are very concerned but I told them that the surgery went great and the cutuest Lucy Lou did great!! Thinking of you guys and hoping for a speedy recovery!!!!!
We are so happy to hear that everything has been going well. What a relief! She still looks so sweet and adorable. We can't stop thinking about you guys!! Love, Jeanine
PS--I was the comment deleted, for some reason I didn't think it went through the first time!
Brian, I think that Lucy is strong enough to pull through this. However, if we have learned anything from Sly Stalone is that the only way to beat the Russian is to get into the wilderness, run through the snow with a giant log on your back, work out in an old barn by lifing bags of corn, old tractor parts and by doing situps hanging of they hay loft. In the downtime you should also play chess with your old irish trainer. Translated...Lucy should be fine if you just follow in Rocky's footsteps becuase, as stated so perfectly at the end of the move; "It I can change...and you can change...then we all can change."
Please know of my continued prayers.
My kids prayed every hour for all of you. Lucy is one tough cutie. Love to hear she is over the worst! God Bless, Laurie

Been thinking of you and praying for you all day.
She look so small and brave in that hospital gown. I'm glad to hear that the surgery went well.
I hope her recovery is super quick (and that you're home in absolutely no time).
Hugs,

I must say, as much as I wish she didn't have to go through this, the "I don't WANNA have surgery" picture is pretty cute. That being said, I pray everything continues to go well.
Phew! I am so happy to hear that the surgery went well and little Lucy is doing great! I'm also glad to hear Mom and Dad are ok too! Y'all have been in my prayers for weeks and now I'm praying for a quick and speedy recovery. Thank you for keeping everyone updated!
